About Patricia Rademaker

Patricia has built her knowledge, skills and experience for over 25 years as a Professional Photographer and from her training in Film and TV and Teaching. She has an innate ability to capture the moment and her passion and vitality along with excellent people skills make for photographs that catch the eye, the emotions and the significance (or joy?) of significant celebrations.

Patricia has had studios in Geelong for many years and continues to extend her business of Success Imaging in Alice Springs and Geelong.

Patricia Rademaker is an experienced professional photographer and teacher and lives in Alice Springs Central Australia. Her business Success Imaging has been operating for over 25 years.

She began her career as a photographer when studying Drama, Film and TV at Rusden and Melbourne University as a Primary and Secondary Teacher.

Her first exhibition, Womens’ Hands at Work, was a Government sponsored project to photograph and document women who had successful home-based businesses. Since then, she has worked with and studied under, some of the most well renowned professional photographers in Melbourne and Geelong, Victoria.

Over her professional career she had studio and galleries in Geelong and worked as a photographer on the wedding circuit, in portraiture and glamour photography and events. She had numerous exhibitions in her studio spaces and at expos and ran workshops for professional and amateur photographers alike. She was also a member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) for many years.

Until she moved to Alice Springs, she was the Management and Communications teacher at the Gordon Institute of TAFE, Geelong, in the Information Communications Technology Department (ICT) for eight years.

Patricia made the move to Alice Springs in 2013 to follow her creative heart. She had her first exhibition in 2015 in Alice Springs titled “There’s Something about Alice” at Yubu Napa Art Gallery and Studios.  You can read about her highly interesting personal journey at https://open.abc.net.au/explore/64351

Patricia says, “Alice Springs and its surrounds has become my photography playground. It is a unique place to live. Very few communities in Australia boast such a culture rich with inspiring diverse art and craft as Alice Springs.

This could most likely be a result of the spiritual nature of the country, the isolation, the transient population, the wide variety of indigenous and multicultural peoples and friendly, creative, sharing community.

It is an ever changing canvas of brilliant colour and the changeable sheer beauty of the desert.”

Using her wealth of knowledge and teaching skills, she runs workshops for keen amateur and beginner photographers. Her professional teaching style is relaxed, fun and hands on.

Her wealth of skills has resulted in an online gallery of images that are pure gold. They reflect her love of the outdoors and nature and her quest to provide high quality inspirational images.

Travellers and locals alike can take a little piece of Alice home with them by choosing from her ever-expanding gallery image collection on this site.
